Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Ingrid Andress recently released the emotional and personal “More Hearts Than Mine,” a “dynamic ballad” that prompted MusicRow to declare: “this woman has talent in spades.” For the latest installment of their “Rising Country Artist Spotlight” feature, Billboard exclusively premiered the equally poignant music video viaYouTube this morning (READ HERE). Directed by Sam Siske, it will also make its exclusive broadcast premiere tomorrow on all CMT properties. Receiving multiple standing ovations when performed live, Andress was inspired by real-life experiences growing up in a large family when she co-wrote the powerful song with Sam Ellis and Derrick Southerland

“I rarely bring anybody I'm dating home to meet my family because they're just such a sacred part of my life,” Andress explained to Billboard. “It came about from a real place of, ‘Just so you know, if you meet my family they're very special people.’ It actually took me a few tries at recording it because I kept tearing up and needed to take breaks…I hate crying in front of people. I’d have to step out and gather myself [but Sam and Derrick would say], ‘No, Ingrid. Come on and just cry. It's fine.’”

The acclaimed singer/songwriter also recently made her “self-assured [and] expressive” (Rolling Stone) national TV debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers, performing her first major-label release “Lady Like,” which is rapidly approaching 4 million on-demand streams. Upon its release, PAPER  applauded how the song’s “lyrical specificity, moments of self-critical vulnerability and raw vocal gravity makes [country music’s] well-worn motifs sound fresh,” going on to praise the empowering anthem for having “a sound built on clean pop melodies, but laced with country's swagger and cinematic storytelling in the style of crossover stalwarts like Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Kylie Minogue” (READ HERE).

Andress will continue to release new music throughout the year that will further prove why CMT calls her “arguably one of the most creative tunesmiths to call Nashville home in recent memory.” The Colorado-native is also set to join label-mates Tucker Beathard, Hunter Hayes, Cody Johnson and Ashley McBryde for the Firestone Country Roads Stage at Ascend Amphitheater Presented by Warner Music Nashville on June 8 as part of CMA Fest.

ABOUT INGRID ANDRESS

"A country pop rookie who can write a chorus like Sia," (PAPER), Ingrid Andress has been chipping away at expectations of herself, and her sound, since she was a young child. Before becoming an Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville recording artist, she honed her writing skills with heavy hitters in the music community such as Sam Hunt and Alicia Keys. The acclaimed songwriter also has several co-writer credits to her name, including “Steady 1234” and Charli XCX’s “Boys.” With a voice praised by The New York Times for being "steady, calm, [and] alive," she will continue to release new music in 2019 that will prove her to be one of the most unique and moving vocalists in the country space and beyond; one that is thrillingly honest, raw and refreshing in a way rarely seen emanating from Music City.
